Our Firm

The law firm of Jim L. Culpepper & Associates, P. C. was founded in 1971, and, for more than 20 years, has had its offices on the west side of Houston on the Katy Freeway. We pursue claims on behalf of individuals and businesses who have suffered loss and/or damages as a result of negligence, defective products, professional malpractice, and/or fraud. We have a broad background and experience in many areas of civil litigation, but for the past 10 years, have concentrated on cases arising out of negligence, defective products, and professional malpractice. The firm almost always represents the plaintiff's side of the bar, and most cases are handled on a contingent-fee basis.

The firm members and staff have a personal relationship with each of the clients of the firm. Most clients are friends of members of the firm prior to the firm providing legal services to the client. Because of our personal relationships with our clients, we are often called upon to handle probate and estate administration matters for our clients. The firm maintains a constant docket of probate matters.

The firm has always provided needed legal services to churches of Christ and the schools and benevolent programs supported by the churches of Christ. The legal services provided to churches and benevolent organizations include real estate transactions, formation of non-profit corporations, legal advice concerning liability for claims, and financial structuring of gifts and contributions.

Our Purpose

Our purpose is to provide the best legal services possible to our clients, in a timely manner and at a fair and reasonable cost, in order that the client may receive the benefit which he expects from such services, for which the firm and its staff are reasonably compensated. We are comitted to the public good by providing our clients with a means of protecting their rights and promoting their interests based upon truth, honesty, and fairness. We serve our purpose each time that our clients' confidence is raised that the legal system can be used, at a reasonable cost and in a timely manner, to address the wrongs which have been realized by our clients.

Our Mindset

Our mindset is client satisfaction which exceeds the client's expectations. We make full disclosure of all relevant information to the client, and expect the client to be involved and participate in the development, strategy and decision-making process of his case. Our mindset is to advise and inform the client of what we believe will be the results and consequences of the client's decision. Thorough and candid communication with the client in all phases of the case will avoid unexpected results. Our mindset is to promote the interest of the client first, and to not let a decision in a client's case be influenced by its effect, whether positive or negative, upon the law firm, any of its attorneys, or any member of the firm's staff. If we cannot put the client's interests first, without consideration to the interests of the law firm, its attorneys, or staff, then, the case should not have been accepted in the first place. The attorney's duty is to keep the client fully informed and to put the client's interests ahead of all other interests in the case.
